Dr. Art Cara

Dr. Art Cara is General Manager and Proprietor of Outplacement Consulting Services (OCS). From 1989-2005, he founded and served as General Manager for the Birmingham, Alabama office of an international outplacement company where he coached corporate executives, managed the sales/operations of a multi-state division, and interpreted career/personality-related assessments. Dr. Cara is a much sought after speaker who frequently addresses topics such as workplace stress, change management/outplacement, and executive assessment.

Prior to becoming a Corporate Consultant, he was State Director of Medical Social Services for First American Home Health Care. Dr. Cara served on several undergraduate/graduate university faculties, authored many workplace related articles, and launched a career advice/mental health column called Job Fare for the Birmingham Business Journal. He is a frequent guest commentator on Clear Channel (WERC Radio 960 AM) and Citadel Broadcasting (107.7 HOTS FM) addressing workplace violence, stress management, mental health, and career transition.

Dr. Cara holds three graduate degrees, including post-doctoral studies, from different universities. He was awarded a Ph.D. in Social and Behavioral Science from The Ohio State University, and masters degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa. Dr. Cara's undergraduate degree was conferred cum laude by the University of Dayton.
